The Art Skin Care System — $113 Member’s only price

This month I talked about how having great skin, hair, and nails is really an inside job. nutrition and the right supplements can really help to set you up for success.

However, having the right products for your skin, especially your face, will also help to improve your appearance. Well, if you have been following me on instagram, you may have seen some of the videos I have done on my morning routine. But I thought I would break it down in my blog. First things first:

Wash your face. I like to use the Art skincare system by Young Living. All of these products are infused with amazing essential oils that are known for promoting healthy looking skin. For example, the foaming cleanser, which I lo-ve, has Frankincense (can’t get enough of Frank), Melissa, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Lemon, Lavender. I mean, look at that lineup! These oils have antioxidants, moisturizing, and have anti-inflammatory properties. All help promote healthier, glowing, younger looking skin.

And since you’re washing with essential oils, don’t be afraid to let the cleanser stay on you face a while before rinsing it off. Let those oils absorb into your skin and do their work.

Use a toner. After washing my face, I follow up with the Art Refreshing Toner. This helps balance your skin's pH, while leaving your face clean, toned, and refreshed. Using Witch hazel, Royal Hawaiaan Sandalwood, Frankincense,  lavender, peppermint, lemon, and melissa essential oils, this toner has it all. It’s moisturizing, beautifying, invigorating, and totally refreshing, especially in the morning. I feel like it makes my skin glow.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Right after I cleanse and tone, I like to put a drop of Frankincense in my hands and just lightly pat my face. My skin drinks it in and just can’t seem to get enough of Frank.

As we get older, our skin tends to dry out more and more, so we tend to apply  heavy creams to compensate. That’s why I love the Art Light Moisturizer. It’s nice and light, not greasy, but the moisture it provides is perfectly balanced and leave my skin feeling silky and smooth without feeling heavy.

Another reason I love the Art Light Moisturizer is because it’s chemical-free. Most moisturizers and face creams have added fragrances, petrolatum, and parabens—all the things I don’t want to slather on my skin.

Chemical fragrance is one of the main causes of adverse skin reactions. However, just because you don’t have an immediate reaction to a fragrance doesn’t mean it’s good for your skin. Chemicals, like sun damage, build up and damage skin over time.

Parabens are synthetic preservatives and added to most commercial moisturizers allowing them to stay in your cabinet without spoiling for months or even years; however, they also enter the body through your skin when you use the products. Parabens mimic hormones in the body and can disturb some functions of the endocrine system.

Petrolatum is a byproduct of petroleum refining. It generally is not refined with strict protocols for purity, so it can be contaminated with other toxic chemicals.

This is why I love Young Living’s Art Skincare System. It is completely plant-based. I don’t have to worry about long term side effects, hormone mimicry, or toxic chemicals. I can use my cleanser, toner, and moisturizer with peace of mind, knowing that everything in these products is nourishing and good for my skin.
