I used to hate to pack. It was a childish aversion. I would say out loud to whomever would listen, “I don’t know what I want to wear today let alone two weeks from today.” There was a lot of spinning involved. Tons of indecision and dragging out the inevitable.
Until one day I was introduced to a list by One Bag.com It was essentially what to pack in a carry on bag for a trip of any length.
This list changed everything for me including how I get dressed. How I plan. How I can go confidently into any trip knowing I have plenty and maybe still too much.
We were traveling to Africa for 18 days. We’d go on Safari, do missionary work, and end it all at the beach. We’d be travelling by plane, bus, boat and car. As soon as we landed we were invited to a wedding!
A well travelled friend swore by the list, so I tried it (not without doubt, trepidation, breaking the rules and stashing “just one more” into the bag).
What I learned was that I never wore my “just one more”. I had plenty. I was dressed just right for every occasion. I was comfortable. I was beautiful. I travelled easily even when we had to run to a connecting flight. I had everything I needed and "just one more”.
I now pack in minutes. No spinning. No indecision. No childish drama. 100% confident.
